Terms of Use

These conditions govern every visit to Val Verde County Criminal History, including reading a page or using a search tool. Your continued use means that you accept all terms stated below. If you disagree with any condition, do not access or use the site.

NO FCRA USE. Val Verde County Criminal History is privately operated and has no connection to Val Verde County, the City of Del Rio, Texas, or any other government body. This site and its advertising partners do not offer a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant screening, or another purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The site is a reference to criminal-record sources. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government affiliation. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve records for users, perform official checks, or submit legal filings.

Its pages identify record custodians serving Val Verde County, including the Sheriff, the District Clerk, the County Clerk, Del Rio Police, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. The Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, governs access to executive-agency records, while Government Code Chapter 411 controls DPS criminal-history dissemination. Neither law makes this site a government custodian. The site may also provide access to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

As a condition of access, you agree not to:

  • Use the site in violation of federal, Texas, or local law
  • Stalk, threaten, or harass a person with information found here
  • Use site content for employment, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
  • Attempt to enter systems or areas without authorization
  • Deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools against the pages
  • Interfere with site performance or another person's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use information from this site or a linked tool to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or unlawfully discriminate against anyone. Such conduct may also violate the law. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 62 controls the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry and its public information. Registry records exist to support public safety, not vigilantism, retaliation, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create background checks, credit reports, or any other consumer report. No service offered by this site or its advertising partners is intended to screen an applicant, assess a rental request, set an insurance rate, or evaluate credit. You must not use site or linked-tool data to:

  • Make a hiring, firing, or other employment decision
  • Evaluate a prospective renter or housing applicant
  • Assess credit or determine an insurance premium
  • Determine eligibility for a permit, license, or government benefit
  • Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA

For a legally permitted screening purpose, obtain the required official check from Texas DPS or use an appropriate FCRA-compliant provider.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Val Verde County charge, conviction, warrant, Texas expunction, or nondisclosure law applies to a particular person. Seek advice from a licensed Texas attorney for an individual matter.

6. No Warranties

All site content and functions are supplied "as is." We make no promise that:

  • Information will always be accurate, complete, or current
  • The website will operate without delay or interruption
  • Every page will be free from defects or security risks
  • An outside search provider will return complete or correct results

Criminal records can change when charges are filed, dismissed, amended, made subject to nondisclosure, or expunged. Updates may not appear here at once. Treat no statement on this site as an official statement from a court, sheriff, police department, Texas DPS, or other agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to government offices, court portals, Texas agencies, legal-aid groups, or outside search services. We do not control those destinations and are not responsible for their content, availability, prices, or data practices. Review the destination's own terms before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Val Verde County Criminal History or its content partners. You may not reproduce, distribute, alter, or create derivative works from that material without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not responsible for damages arising from use of this site, including reliance on information found here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or legal actions caused by your site use or violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of Val Verde County Criminal History must be brought in a court located in Texas.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms at any time. A revision takes effect when the updated terms are posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may restrict or end access to the site at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected language will be modified only as much as necessary to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be directed through the Contact page.
